Mount Carmel College, Bangalore is a women’s college in Vasanth Nagar of Bangalore, Karnataka, India that was established on 7 July 1948. The college offers undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The college is ‘A+’ accredited by NAAC and was awarded Five Stars by NAAC. The college is affiliated to Bangalore University but functions as an autonomous institution. The college has a sister institution Mount Carmel Institute Of Management which offers Post Graduation Diploma in Business Management for women. Mount Carmel College is a member of 29 clubs and associations that conduct several events and competitions across the year. In 2008 it was ranked by India Today as one of the top three colleges in Karnataka in the fields of arts, science and commerce.

Cul Ah is the cultural fest of the college that includes events such as dance, drama, music and academically driven contests like quizzes. Admissions into undergraduate management courses is commonly done on the basis of merit. Merit is prepared on the basis of candidate’s performance in qualifying examination (12th).

Some institutions/Universities provides admission on the basis of their own entrance exam, following with Group Discussion, Micro Presentation and Personal Interview.

To get admission in postgraduate management courses, students need to apply for entrance exam.

Typically, admissions into MBA course is done through CAT/MAT/CMAT, etc. In addition to these entrance exams, there are many other entrance exams conducted by colleges/ University for admission to postgraduate courses following with Group Discussion, Micro Presentation and Personal Interview.

Admission through management quota

Some private colleges in India have some reserved seats allocated to them by the government defined as Management/ NRI quota.

These seats are given by the college on their own norms and eligibility. The colleges may charge capitation amount / development charges/ or increase in fees structure to give seats to deserving candidates.

All colleges do have their own eligibility criteria, terms and conditions to give seats to respective students. The criteria and procedure varies from colleges to colleges.
